When you look at Bastille’s Pompeii, it’s a very simple setup. Like most songs they start with an intro, theirs being a chorus of voices jumping up and down from one note to another. Then there’s the first verse, telling the story of the song. After that is the pre-chorus, hinting at the one of the climaxes in the song and leading into the chorus which is catchy, and makes you wanna close your eyes. The song then goes along to another vers, but this time with different lyrics, again it has the pre-chorus and the chorus but then there’s a little drum beat, changing the song so you don’t get sick of it. The bridge is a whole new string of lyrics and the ellision is the bridge with the melody overlapping. And finally the last chorus booms into your ears and ends peacefully with the chorus of voices fading out.
